Assessment of obstructive sleep apnea severity using audio-based snoring features

چکیده
Snoring is a prima symptom of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Here, we add audio-based snoring features to improve the non-obtrusive assessment apnea, by estimating apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) and classifying OSA severity. We propose novel quantify temporal changes between snores (snore rate variability) describe trends in snore energy, based on sounds from audio signals over full night. then combined those with age, body mass (BMI) described literature. An extreme gradient boosting algorithm was trained all these AHI estimation. The estimated used classify Audio-based showed significant Spearman's correlation gold-standard polysomnography (R = 0.786, P < 0.0001). Our results outperformed model solely previously our dataset 0.676, 0.0001) combination features, BMI 0.731, mean absolute error estimation 7.26 events/h. Area under receiver operating characteristic curve outcomes were 0.90, 0.87 0.93 for patients varying severity separated canonical thresholds 5, 15 30 events/h respectively. accuracy subjects four classes (no, mild, moderate, severe OSA) 59.3 %. Additional can performance classification methods.

Relationship Between Snoring Intensity and Severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the intensity of snoring and severity of sleep apnea using Watch-PAT (peripheral arterial tone) 100. METHODS A total of 404 patients (338 males and 66 females) who underwent home-based portable sleep study using Watch-PAT 100 for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) from January 2009 through December 2011 were included in thi...

The number of patients who suffer from snoring and sleep apnea in Iran has been increasing in proportionate to the rest of the world as the prevalence of obesity has soared within the last two decades. This pandemic obesity is blamed on consumption of more energy-dense, nutrient-poor foods with high levels of sugar and saturated fats. Obesity is one of the major contributing factors of obstruct...

Background: It has been implicated that obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease including stroke, myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease (CAD) and hypertension. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between OSA and severity of atherosclerosis assessed by angiography. Methods: This study included 337 patients ...
